Text Box: I am going to take a risk and thank everyone by name. If I leave a name out, I apologize. Thank you Larré, Karen, Heather, Samantha, Bud, Jim, Serona, Joe, Janie, BreeAnna, Bill, Bonnie, Jerry, Joy, Pete, Sandy, Brian, Cindy, Kim, Dave, Wendell, Vi, Carl, Alan, Bill, Jim, Becky, Lois, Flo, Tim, Katrina, Tina, Vince, Julie, Froy, Paola, Amos, Kathy, Greg, Mark, Cindy, Nola, Perry, Sylvia, and Judy.
Of course, my list of names to thank would be incomplete without the name of Jesus. He is my Lord and Savior. Because of Him I have a host of good friends and companions in Building His Kingdom.
When we work together in His name, we are able to accomplish great things. In the process, we demonstrate to one another and the community around us that He is a great God!
May each one that reads this be blessed and encouraged!

In His arms,

Text Box: This past weekend we were blessed to have 24 of our friends come to visit. It was a very hectic and busy weekend. There was lots of food, fun, and fellowship. That weekend was one of the most memorable and enjoyable of my life.
Something in particular stood out about that weekend. What stood out was our friends’ purpose in coming to visit. Granted, Judy’s world famous brownies would be a legitimate enough reason for just about anyone to visit; yet, their reason for coming was so much more.
Our friends came to bless us by taking two days plus to work on our church. They painted the outside of the church building. That was the primary focus, but they did so much more. Imagine with me, 24 people who stayed busy working inside and outside, mostly in teams, completing tasks from cleaning, sewing new curtains, fending off spiders, cutting down and/or trimming trees, painting, hanging doors, installing flashing, playing the offertory, purchasing and putting together new furniture, and doing tons of yard work. And I am only giving you a snapshot of what work was accomplished.

Text Box: During those couple of days, we all experienced one of the core values of the Christian Church, a common purpose in Him. While our friends were working, so was our own church family. It was incredible to see them working side-by-side. So much work was accomplished because of the togetherness that was shared in Christ.
Of course, we could not put 24 in our home. Several of our church families opened up their homes, giving more opportunity for fellowship and connection. While providing a blessing, our church people were blessed!
A major contribution of the weekend was made by our church people who participated in cooking the meals. Our friends were expecting easy to prepare and serve meals, such as sandwiches and the like. Instead, every meal was a feast, be it breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Every meal was, well, a full meal with tons of food.
We also enjoyed some blessed time feasting on the Word of God. We had devotions several times a day and found ourselves encouraged by the incredible Scriptures. This deepened our fellowship and our connectedness.

         The Blessing Of Good Friends

Our church family in Layton, Utah is awesome!  The church family from the Church of the Nazarene’s Intermountain District is awesome!

Many of us have a small family we are part of that might include mom, dad and children.  Then we might have an extended family that often includes grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.  Then we might have another layer of extended family that includes family members that we only see once in a great while.

Our church family can be like our own family groups.  Here in Layton, Utah, we have come to know and love the people who attend Rosewood Lane Church of the Nazarene, where Pastor Dave and I are currently pastoring.  They are our church family!

It was great to see our friends from Karcher Church of the Nazarene, as they came to help us work on the church property this past weekend.  And our extended-extended family would be the Intermountain District, where we have many, many other friends and acquaintances that we have come to love like family!
