Text Box: I do not believe the scriptures actually say, but I can imagine that Martha is the older sister. She was accustomed to being the leader and director. Now here Mary was disregarding the leader at a time when Martha believed the priority should have been to get a meal together for the greatest houseguest they would ever have. In Martha’s mind, this was a no-brainer. Mary needed to get her priorities right and follow Martha’s leadership in prioritizing her tasks and responsibilities.
There is so much more to this story. To read the remainder of this article, click on the following link:

Text Box: By its very definition, obedience means that we take an action that is not our first impulse or desire. Instead, we are acting on the plans and priorities of the one to whom we are being obedient.
Jesus was well aware of the importance of obedience. He practiced and lived out obedience to His Heavenly Father on a daily basis. Yet, even Jesus knew the struggle of not following one’s first impulse or desire, but to instead, to act on the plans of His Father. We see this very plainly in the story of Lazarus.
Lazarus was from Bethany and was considered a very good friend of Jesus’. He had two sisters, Mary and Martha. We became familiar with this family in the Gospel of Luke, Chapter 10. Here, Jesus arrived at the home of Lazarus to have a meal. Once He was in the home, Jesus began teaching while He was waiting for the meal to be prepared.

Text Box: Lazarus’ two sisters were preparing the meal. However, when Jesus began teaching Mary left the kitchen so that she could sit at the feet of Jesus and learn from Him.
Haven’t we all experienced a time when we find ourselves doing a task that might usually be done by more than one person, and yet we are doing it all by ourselves? We feel abandoned, put upon, and disrespected. We also come to believe that the task is gravely more important than whatever else our partner and helper could possibly be doing instead. This is how Martha felt and responded in this situation.
Martha went to Jesus and pointed out to Him the obvious neglect Mary was giving to the important task of preparing the meal. She was convinced that Jesus would agree with her and follow her advice to direct Mary back to the kitchen.

Text Box: Is Sring Here To Stay?

Text Box: This was her first time at Karcher Church. She had just moved to Nampa 3 days before and is a single Mom. She came looking for a closer relationship with Jesus Christ, and she needed prayer. She is in transition, and that dormant spiritual life needed a little water and sunshine of Jesus love and caring Christians to pray with her.
I am glad that God lead her to Karcher Church and that we were able to pray with her. She went home with a different out-look on her future.

Text Box: Spring is here! Well, at least that’s the way it looks. On March 1st, we had a day of snow, and now the weather is getting up to the 60’s and 70’s during the day. I love it!
However, I was talking with one of my neighbors the other day, who was saying that the last freeze is usually in May! She said spring seems early this year and maybe it won’t freeze again, but there is that possibility. Only God knows what the weather will be. He has control over that, along with everything else in our lives!!

Text Box: It is beautiful to see the flowers blooming and the trees getting baby leaves and buds. I have taken some pictures of our tree in the front yard that I have included on page 2, so you can enjoy the budding tree with me!
God is so good! Only He could make such a beautiful world! Since I have never lived anywhere but southern California, I have never experienced spring like this before. I knew it happened, I saw pictures, and I read about it. But, until I actually experienced it for myself, I didn’t actually comprehend the beauty.

Text Box: Just as spring brings new life to what appeared to be dead plants, there are times in our lives that our spiritual lives can be dormant—just like the plants. It may not be dead, but there doesn’t appear to be much, if any, life there. I would assume that we all have times like that sometime in our lives.
We met a beautiful young lady on our way into church last Sunday night. We talked with her and asked her to sit with us, since this was her first time to attend our church. She had an adorable baby, only 8 weeks old.
