Text Box: God’s presence is health for our souls. The absence of God’s presence is like a deadly disease, like cancer. If you knew how to cure cancer you would not have to give it a second thought whether you would or not utilize your knowledge to help others. Why be less then healthy spiritually? Embrace obedience and bathe in the presence of God.
If obedience is taught and practiced correctly, then God’s Kingdom grows. That growth starts first in you. There is an inward aspect to the Kingdom.

Text Box: The word ‘Christian’ literally means ‘little Christ’. This refers to someone who has devoted themselves to becoming like Him. It does not mean someone who admires Jesus. It does mean someone who has so completely devoted themselves to Him that in their life they begin to resemble Him. One’s actions and attitudes resemble His, not their own.
One of the most compelling ways we can be the image of Christ to this world is to embrace Jesus’ model of obedience. The great purpose of obedience is to please God. It is not to earn or deserve His love or any reward. It is simply because we have chosen to be obedient to Him.
Text Box: If obedience is taught and practiced correctly, then God is honored. God is never honored when we do things our way. In fact, the plans of God are derailed when we presume to act on our own and assume that is God’s will for us and His Kingdom.
If obedience is taught and practiced correctly, then God is present. I am continually amazed at how often I hear people say that they do not feel or sense God’s presence. They make God out to be the one who is absent. The reality is that God is there, but we are the ones not in sync, unable to sense His presence and the lack of obedience is the leading cause.

Text Box: How Do You Look At Weeds?
     by Judy Bassett
Text Box: The weather is changing! We had a few days up into the 50’s. Then, last week we had a day where we had snow on and off all day. It didn’t stay long. By the end of the day, there was none left.
This week, the temperature has been up to about 64. What a change. With the warmth, there are some changes taking place.

Text Box: The grass that has been dormant all winter is beginning to show some signs of life. Under the brown tops, I can see a little green.
However, do you know what is sprouting and growing first and tallest? Weeds! I see weeds growing in the flower beds. There are a few flowers beginning to sprout, but taller and more robust than the flowers and the grass are the weeds.

Text Box: There could be a lesson to learn in this. Actually—maybe a couple of lessons! If we look at weeds as the bad things in our life, the temptations and trials, we see that they are the first to show their ugly heads.
The only way to get rid of weeds is to pull them out by the root! We must totally destroy the weeds and the temptations that we come across in our lives.

Text Box: That does not mean there won’t be more weeds. Somehow, the weeds always find their way back to our lawn.
The temptations may come back too, but you know what to do to get rid of that weed or temptation, so it doesn’t get too large to handle—pull it up by the root and destroy it.
