Building God’s Kingdom Together, Inc.

He is omnipresent.  He is everywhere.  We, however, do not constantly acknowledge His presence, nor are we aware that we are constantly in His presence.

Prayer has many dynamics and a most powerful one is the acknowledgement that He is with us and we are with Him.  Prayer is communication, but it is also communion.  Through email or regular mail we can communicate with others when we are not with them.  When we pray we are not only communicating with God, but we are also with Him.

Reaching this challenging level of praying continually leads to constant communion with Him.  It is as if we have a friend that is always at our side.  But He is so much more than a friend.  He is our guide and the one to whom we are servants.  He will lead you to the work that He wants for you.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

Colossians 3:23-24

The first key to discovering His will for your work is prayer.  While there are many other things we need to do, if we do them without prayer we are only guessing at what He wants for us.  Prayer unleashes the power of the Kingdom within our lives.  It connects us to God in a way no other practice can do.

It is very easy to underestimate the power of prayer.  Often we do underestimate its power because of the way we practice prayer.  The Apostle Paul encouraged the church of Thessalonica to “pray continually”, or as the New King James Version says, “pray without ceasing”.

If your understanding and practice of prayer is that certain circumstances are necessary for you to be in prayer, then you will never be able to accomplish this challenge from Paul.  If you feel that there needs to be silence or no more than very low sounds for you to pray, then you have severely handicapped your ability to pray.  If you need to be in a particular physical posture, say kneeling, to be in prayer, you have again handicapped your ability to pray.

Paul was encouraging the people of the church of Thessalonica to learn how to be in a constant state of prayer.  No matter the surrounding noises or their posture, he was challenging them to learn how to be in constant prayer.

What makes this so dynamic, as well as critical for Kingdom living, is that it leads to constant communion with God.  The Lord never fails to be present when we pray.

Willingness
by Judy Bassett

Are you willing to do whatever God wants you to do?   God taught me a great lesson over the last couple of weeks.  I am excited to tell you about it!

Over the last two years, I have not worked at a job where I received a paycheck.  That is not to say that I did not work—I just haven’t worked for an employer who paid me!  When we were in Idaho, I tried to get a job and the Lord made it very clear to me that I was not to work at that time.  He closed the doors—in fact he “slammed” the doors.  I knew that the answer there was NO.

When we came to Utah in July, I thought about going to work, but again, the answer I was receiving when I would pray about what I was to do was that I had enough on my plate at the moment.

As many of you may know, we took a church here in Utah that was very small.  The Lord is causing a tremendous growth, in the hearts of the people here, and also in numbers.  It may not sound like a lot to someone in a larger church, but he has more than doubled our numbers since we came here 9 months ago.

We are growing, but not enough to have any staff, so we are still doing the day-to-day things that need to be done at the church (clerical, janitorial, etc…)

Pastor Dave and I also have the ministry for which we write this newsletter—Building God’s Kingdom Together, Inc.—a non-profit corporation.

Besides the church, and the non-profit ministry, we started an internet retail business about a year ago.
